Hoshi wo Meguru Otome, translated as Maiden Who Travells the Planet, is an official novella published by Studio Bentstuff and written by Matsuyama Benny to accompany Final Fantasy VII: Ultimania Omega. Written in the perspective of Aerith while in the lifestream, the timeline of the short story spans from the instant of her death to the last events of Final Fantasy VII in seven chapters.

Throughout the story, Aerith explains the effects of existing in the lifestream, and subsequently, the different kinds of effects the lifestream has on the souls of indivuals. She also goes on to give personal insight on her past and the people involved in her life, as well as the nature of her role in the living world. Along the way, she meets other deceased characters floating around in the lifestream, such as Biggs and Wedge. She also discovers the soul of Zack Fair, much to her dibelief.
